A Surname With a Suffix
A surname may appear with a suffix. Here are the most commonly used suffixes:

| -owie | Altmanowie | Altman family |
| -e (for names ending with -icz) | Abramowicze | Abramowicz family |
| -scy (for names ending with -ski) | Krakowscy | Krakowski family |
| -ccy (for names ending with -cki) | Rudniccy | Rudnicki family |
| -owa | Altmanowa | wife of Altman |
| -ówna | Altmanówna | daughter of Altman (not married) |
