Surnames with appended suffixes

A surname may appear with a suffix. Here are the most commonly used suffixes:

Suffix	Example	Meaning
-owie	Altmanowie	family of
-e (for names ending with icz)	Abramowicze	family of
-scy (for names ending with ski and -cki)	Krakowscy	family of
-owa	Altmanowa	wife of
-ówna	Altmanówna	daughter of (i.e., not married)
