Radoszyce (just southwest of Końskie) was the center of an Hasidic dynasty that was founded in the 1820s by Rabbi Yissakhar Dov Baer (1765–1843). Radoszyce was bombed early during World War II. The majority of Jews left the town at that time, but later an influx of refugees saw the population of Jews swell from around 500 to 2,400 and then to 4,000. On 3 Nov 1942, all 4,000 were deported to the Treblinka death camp.
